Review of Hawaii (2013) by Chazzyc . — 29 May 2015
Estranged childhood friends Martin and Eugenio reunite when Martin is looking for work one summer. Eugenio employs him to help him fix up his house and the two begin to form a close bond.
This 2-hander from Argentina is simply a stunning piece of cinema. The screen drips with beauty and the camera takes in every simple gesture and nuance from the brilliant cast, bringing an atmosphere rife with sexual tension and drama despite there being very little dialogue.
Writer/director Marco Berger should be very pleased with himself. A gorgeous example of "show. don't tell". Bravo to him.
