Review of Harry Brown (2009) by Dryorophus — 07 Dec 2010
I shouldn't really, but one can't help but compare this with Grand Torino. But really, they're very different.
But what is very similar is the sensational acting by their leads. Whilst Caine's performance is deeper than Eastwoods, I found Grand Torino much more 'entertaining' as it had a lot of humour. This film has no humour. It is dark, disturbing and fairly graphic, but not as violent as I expected from what I had read about that film.
Very well made, it's a shame it didn't get more attention at the world wide box office.
