Review of Happy Birthday (2016) by Bitsofskin — 23 Jan 2017
The movie itself was about as bland as a **** Z-grade movie can be, but the ending just made me want to slap the director and script writers a few times and ask them in what kind of insane universe people would continue being friends after someone pulls something along the lines of what this crock of **** puts forth...
I can't even be bothered to go into too much detail, because even after re-watching some key scenes it remained a vague POS that only got some level of clarity at the end.
It's as if the director was trying to go for a buddy movie, then decided to make it a horror film, then went 'oh wait, maybe arthouse', then watched some of the weirder Italian horror flicks of the 70's and 80's, etc. etc. etc.
It's a mishmash of weird influences that clash, and ultimately fail to impress due to the lacklustre execution, and downright 'LOLNOPE.EXE' story.
