I saw gummo for the first time at, you guessed it, the brisbane international film festival. I was struck by how bold and uncompromising the story was ( did it have a story?), and how visceral the images were that it project onto the screen in front of me.

A journey into a darker America, off the beaten drack, into the poor backwaters of kentucky. If you want to see a new type of cinema, see this film.
