Review of Grand Prix (1966) by John C — 06 Jun 2007
The greatest movie ever made about the sport of Grand Prix racing. There's a little drama thrown in, thanks to the death of James Garner's teammate, and his struggle to return to winning form after it, the movie perfectly captures the pressure and atmosphere of being a Formula 1 driver, in an era where several drivers a YEAR died.
More than anything else though, the cinematography of the races themselves is automotive perfection. Another movie to watch with the volume cranked.
