Review of Gran Casino (1947) by Aaron G — 14 Aug 2007
Minor Bunuel picture, featuring musical numbers by its two stars! This was Bunuel's first film in Mexico and he didn't really have too much creative freedom, as it was mainly a vehicle for Mr. Negrete and Ms.
Lamarque, who were already a little long on the tooth. The film flopped at the box-office and almost ended this great director's career in Mexico, almost as soon as it began.
