Review of Gorgo (1961) by Ralph R — 08 Mar 2008
Gorgo is a refreshing change of scenery and pace in the giant monster attacks film genre. The scenes of London being ripped apart are incredible. I cant remember ever seeing Tokyo's inhabitants ever being crushed beneath tons of falling building like this before. And theres alot of crushing going on. It gets pretty scary once Mama shows up to claim her offspring.
The lighting is great and the special effects are superb for 1961.
Ive never been a giant monster freak, but Gorgo is better than any Godzilla film that ive ever seen.
