This is an excellent biographical film chronicling the life of the great essayist, bon vivant, and wit, Gore Vidal. It doesn't delve too deeply into his ideas but serves as a kind of highlight reel of his tremendous humour, prodigious output, and memorable television appearances.
His family, friends, military service, Hollywood years, Italian years, and later Hollywood years are all covered. The highlight, though, is his quick wit which was learned, scathing, and brilliant.
