Review of Good Boy, Bad Boy (2007) by Neethi B — 13 Jun 2009
From Emraan Hashmi's somewhat dark movies like Gangster, Kalyug and Footpath comes a lighthearted venture called Good Boy Bad Boy. It could be Emraan Hashmi's second attempt at comedy, or a way to get rid of his serial kisser image for a movie.
Either way, it succeeded. With almost no vulgarity and no unnecessary fights, Good Boy Bad Boy is a great family watch. Although a small starcast, all actors have given great performances; the highlight being, of course, Emraan Hashmi.
One is not used to seeing Emraan Hashmi in a comedy role, unless you watched Jawani Diwani - his pathetic attempt at making youth laugh. Seeing Emraan in a family movie can be refreshing to the majority of the crowd.
It definitely was for me. However, if you're looking for a brilliant film, look somewhere else. The comedy is decent, the storyline is good and the music is very upbeat. Overall, this is a timepass movie and a refreshing change for Emraan Hashmi fans.
