Review of Glen Campbell: I'll Be Me (2014) by Kyle B — 15 Nov 2015
A heartbreaking look at the disease of Alzheimers and how it can effect not only the person but the people around them. I am not a fan of country music nor am I very familiar with Campbell's music, I really adored this documentary.
It touches on why Campbell is beloved by his peers like Paul McCartney and Bruce Springsteen and the people following his footprints like Blake Shelton and Brad Paisley and very emotional scenes with his children and wife.
The opening of this movie just sets the stage for the trip we are about to go on for the next hour and a half as we see Campbell crumble more and more on this farewell tour to the point he can't go on.
It's a marvelous documentary that rightfully earned an Oscar nomination for Campbell's swan song "I'm Not Gonna Miss You".
