While I think the ideas behind this film are solid, I can't get past the Barbie-esque Disney Channel Movie feeling production. The acting was iffy and plastic just like the sets and costumes. This movie is like a queer Mean Girls minus the perfection that is Mean Girls.
However, despite its flaws, as a young queer woman I applaud any movie that sympathizes with the problems we experience, including grappling with to what extent we let our sexual orientation define our overall identity.
