Review of Gandhi (1982) by Yusuf S — 12 Sep 2009
I didn't watch this movie for the camera angles or the composition of the shot - I watched it to learn about Gandhi. All I knew of Gandhi as a child was Ben Kingsley's depiction of him, and I can now see why.
He was absolutely stunning in his portrayal, yet I have to still wonder what Gandhi was really like. It's funny that almost my entire understanding of this great man (and the history of India and Pakistan, for that matter) centers around this film.
Watching the movie inspires me to learn more about Gandhi, but I'm a little saddened that I find myself so ignorant about what he did for his country and for the world.
