Review of Gandhi (1982) by Deidre S — 03 Jan 2010
There is so much to say about this film! I can hardly decided what to focus on in this short note. Should I discuss justice, freedom, or interfaith dialoge? Or perhaps what it means to fight, or to be passive? Each of these concepts and more were given audience in this movie. It is more than worth the time.
While there is much to say about the concepts brought forth, there is also much to say about the acting and directing. I was stunned by India's landscape. There were many times I got lost in how well Kingsley played Gandhi that I forgot that it was Kingsley.
This is a great film to view for many reasons. It will invoke passions and thoughts of all kinds, while it amazes you artistically. Well done!
