Review of Fugitive Alien (1987) by Aj V — 07 Aug 2012
Here we go again with another Japanese TV show ported over, combined and released as a movie in the US. Fugitive Alien can hardly be called entertaining. Heck, it can hardly be called a movie. It's certainly not boring, and I guess that it's its best quality, and that's really reaching.
To be fair, most Japanese TV shows and movies don't make a whole lot of sense, nor do they ever stand still. They're constantly in motion with over the top characters and insane visuals. This has that, but it doesn't have it cranked up to 11.
If it had, it would probably be more watchable than it is. Oh well. Thankfully this is one that the crew from Mystery Science Theater 3000 managed to tackle, twice, as well as its "sequel". I don't recommend that you watch it any other way than with these people commentating.
Otherwise, you should skip it.
