Review of Fruitvale Station (2013) by Alvin Y — 15 Dec 2013
The last 20 minutes of this movie is the one that made me shocked and speechless throughout. It's truly a sad and devastating piece of movie in a little 80 minutes or less about one man's journey of American dream.
Thinking of it as a movie in general, this is truly one of the best movies of the year, filled with great characters which is as we know based on real events. It has a very intense dramatic feel from start to end that somehow at the end we learn that this guy Oscar is not just a black man, but a father, son, friend who is willing to give up everything that he loves.
Not many movies made me feel like this at the end, and that's a good thing. I know this review is unworthy so be sure to check it out, and as I said the last 20 minutes of it made me feel traumatized and sick.
It's should be nominated for any Academy awards this year at least, if not, then it's still a movie for the audiences to see.
