Review of Frozen River (1929) by Kelsey H — 28 Feb 2009
A heart-wrenching film! The characters truly are leading lives of quiet desperation. A total 360 from the smarmy characters in Rachel Getting Married. This film made me think about an excellent work by Barbara Ehrenreich called Nickel and Dimed in America, about America's working poor.
See this film and read that book for insight into the plight of so many in this country.
