Review of Frozen River (1929) by Cindy L — 22 Dec 2009
Really well-made, beautifully shot film with an intense, emotional arc about two strong, impoverished women trying to survive and resorting to dangerous activity to make money.
It manages to make the two lead characters simultaneously deeply flawed and intensely sympathetic at the same time, not an easy task.
