Review of Frankenstein (2007) by Lexie T — 30 Apr 2009
This was a modern twist on Mary Shelley's classic with the Dr being a woman who genetically engineers a 'creature' in the hopes it will help harvest a cure for her dying son. Helen McCrory was very good as the Dr and James Purefoy (as always) was excellent as her estranged husband who may - or may not - be working for the Govt.
I still prefer the original adaptation but this film was more prevalent to the modern age of stem cell research, and I did feel a certain sympathy towards the 'creature' even though he did some truly horrendous things.
It was worth watching on its own merits.
