Review of Francofonia (2015) by Laurie T — 01 Aug 2016
A historical study of the Louvre with Napoleon and Nazis and the Mona Lisa peeking in. The sculptures remained during World War II, but the paintings were hidden in the country. Some footage of the siege of Leningrad, since this is a Russian film by a Russian director.
Not quite as coherent as his film about the Ermitage, but introduces us to two almost heroes who saved the museum's treasures, one French and one Nazi.
