Review of For Colored Girls (2010) by Forreal — 08 Nov 2010
The only problem with Tyler Perry Movies/Plays/Productions are the men (black or otherwise) that are hating on a brother for exposing issues that they try so hard to cover up! And all the people (men and women) that will not look their problems straight on and get help to get over and move on from them.
I think he is paving a way for issues to be brought to the surface and dealt with. A far cry from history of covering up and letting it eat the life out of you. Move on people and stop hating on the brother, he don't know you personally, he just ran across somebody just like you.
This could have been easily done by anyone else and your reaction would have been the same. It's not the person this time around, it's the issues that society won't deal with. I personally saw this and thought it was a magnificent interpretation of someone else's work.
