Review of Flying Padre (1951) by Brian B — 27 May 2018
This was a bit of an underwhelming documentary. I usually don't mind it when documentaries have staged footage, even when they combine it with real footage, but I do mind it when those staged clips are easily noticeable as they can bring you out of the experience.
That was why I didn't care for this film. Even though this film displays some of Kubrick's cinematography talents (many clever shots can be found in this film), it's still pretty forgettable.
As the saying goes, however, everyone has to start somewhere.
