Review of Fine, Totally Fine (2008) by Mike M — 20 Oct 2008
Reminds me a bit of "The Taste of Tea," with it's lowkey humor that comes from awkward situations in everyday life. The characters are all unique and very quirky, with their own faults and humorous personalities.
From the book store clerk who wants to build a haunted house (and film scary scenes for research) to the red-faced pot mender who enjoys abstract art of a homeless women... Yes that doesn't make much sense but that is part of the fun in this film, all of this weird stuff happening in the everyday lives of these Tokyoites.
Worth watching for that unique Japanese indie humor.
