Review of Fata Morgana (1972) by Kevin M — 20 Mar 2008
Not exactly a "documentary" per se, more as an extension of Herzog's persona. If anything this is a document of his eternal quest for "ecstatic truth" through northern and eastern Africa.
To some this may be unwatchable, pretentious crap, but to those familiar with Herzog's methodology, this is a mesmirizing journey through the farthest reaches of human existence, with an incredible soundtrack to compliment the beautiful, unique imagery.
Indispensible.
