The choice was this or Rock of Ages for my Friday film, and I saw lots of positive comments so gave Fast Girls a go. Disappointed.
Watching this makes you remember how good Bend it like Beckham was. Fast Girls has none of the charm or humour of that film. It is cliche after cliche, and totally predictable, even sharing Bend it like Beckham's weak romantic love triangle weak, weak subplot. The athletics scenes don't convince and the performances are no more than average in an uninspiring script. Makes Bend it like Beckham look like a true masterpiece.
