Review of Everlasting Moments (2008) by Ola S — 09 Jan 2009
Jan Troell is the big oldtimer in Swedish movies. And there's no doubt about his skills here. There's a total concentration in every moment and every second is filled with something important. But still, it's clear to the viewer what Troell wants to achieve.
The plot takes place in Sweden in the beginning of the 20th century. A worker has drinking and infidelity problems and the family lives in misery. But his wife reaches a new world through her camera. And a new way of watching. She can't really be harmed anymore.
To be shown at any rookie film maker school.
