Review of Everest (2015) by Lucas O — 31 Dec 2015
A breathtaking, heart-stopping epic that pays tribute to the lives that were lost during that tragic 1996 expedition of Mount Everest, but also shows what a man would have to do to endure such danger. Brilliantly directed by Balthasar Kormakur (Contraband) and starring an exceptionally cast including such actors like Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty, Terminator Genisys), Jake Gyllenhaal (Brokeback Mountain, End of Watch), Josh Brolin (No Country for Old Men, Sicario), John Hawkes (Deadwood, The Sessions), Michael Kelly (TV's House of Cards), Sam Worthington (Avatar, Terminator Salvation), Emily Watson (War Horse, Red Dragon), Robin Wright (The Princess Bride, TV's House of Cards), and Keira Knightley (the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, The Imitation Game), Everest grabs hold of you and doesn't let go until the heart-stopping conclusion.
5 out of 5 stars for this.
