Review of Ermo (1995) by Lisa R — 20 Jan 2013

I found this little gem on Netflix. The title character has a layabout old man for a husband and Western-style aspirations, so she takes matters into her own hands to gain a social status among her neighbors.

Her initiative is nice to see, but in the end, the material possessions she's able to provide bring only transitory happiness--as they do for everyone. It's well worth the 90 minutes.
