It's the kind of movie that is critically panned but resonates greatly with the right audience. It's a 90s teen movie so no one should expect anything too profound, but if you let it, it will warm your heart despite the fact that it doesn't satisfy critical tastes.
Empire Records is in the same vein as Can't Hardly Wait, and it features an all-star cast including Liv Tyler, Ethan Embry, Renee Zellweger, and Robin Tunney. It's lovable and unrealistic and altogether worth watching if you have an appreciation for 90s movies with great soundtracks.
