Review of Edge of Seventeen (1999) by Zachary B — 21 Aug 2008
This movie was released in 1999 but it gets 1984 so exactly right. It's almost uncanny. Love the soundtrack, love the emotional balance. Maybe it's a story that's been told (fairly) many times, but I recommend this version.
Maybe it's just cause I grew up in the 80s... it captures the awkwardness and dorkiness of dating and romance in the teen years so perfectly. Also the evolving hair. And the horrible social weirdness at parties.
