Review of Eden Log (2007) by Gary C — 23 Jul 2009
If you can find a way to ignore the abysmal acting in this movie, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at just how badass it really is. Sure, the plot doesn't make much sense, but the way it is shot is simply stunning, offering you very few colors and an incredibly dark atmosphere.
Actually, my favorite part of the entire movie was the sound. The score was good, but it was lost in the background of the sound effects. Every sound in the movie is damn near audible: you can hear cloth rubbing against itself, you hear rocks crunching under foot, you hear heavy breathing, you hear water dripping.
It's actually really intense just how much better the experience is if you have surround sound. Pretty cool movie; definitely worth seeing.
