Review of Eden (2013) by Steve W — 05 Aug 2013
A powerful look at the disgusting sex trade industry, Abduction of Eden tells the story of a young woman kidnapped after accepting a ride home with a stranger. She begins to accept her fate, until she slowly gains the trust of her handlers and becomes one of them.
The reason why this movie works is because it doesn't got for sentimentality or cliches. It tells the story, but also has a touch of cruelty and harshness just out of reach.
What truly makes the film deliver is the acting. All three principal players are great: Jamie Chung, Matt O'Leary, and Beau Bridges. They each give a dynamite performance in this harrowing tale of exploitation and harshness.
