Review of Eaten Alive (1976) by Trent R — 01 Jan 2008
War hero and all-around badass intellectual Neville Brand and a very young Robert Englund, (as Buck - who's "rarin' to f__k.") contend for the title of Hugest West Texas Cretin for 1977.
It's fundamentalist psycho vs. moronic hedonist in the battle to decide which aspect of small-town America is the worst. Though obviously studio-bound, this really shows what Hooper can do on a budget - like his more recent effort, "Toolbox Murders".
Why do they let lesser talents remake Romero and Hooper while the old masters are still with us and working on limited funds?
