Review of East/West (1999) by Callie R. — 17 May 2008
I was compelled to see this movie because the trailer I saw reminded me of a Solzhenitsyn novel. It was much as I had hoped. The stark background of Stalinist Russia makes the passions and longings of the characters all the more vivid.
And what longing is more powerful than the desire for freedom?
