Review of Drugstore Cowboy (1989) by Patience W — 17 Jan 2010
Gus Van Sant, like most directors, has directed some great movies as well as some that were not sot great. Drugstore Cowboy, in my opinion, is right up there with Milk and Good Will Hunting. Drugstore Cowboy is the story of a group of druggie friends who steal from drugstores and get high off of their finds, of coarse.
The "leader" of this junkie quarter is Bob(Matt Dillon) a superstitious man in his twenties who has a fear of hats on beds, dogs, and even the mentioning of the word "dog." Those things, in his opinion bring bad luck, something they can't afford to have in their line of "work.
" I loved the performances in this film and I loved it...
