Review of Drama/Mex (2006) by Mathieu R — 20 Feb 2008
I found this film to be the middle ground between Battle in Heaven and Y tu Mamá También, without the power of either. It lacks a general humanism that makes this film exploitative of its characters.
Staunchly moralistic and absurd, the rape scene alone makes me cringe, not because of the rape itself, but because of its sickening outcome (the victim likes it... ugh).
