Downtown 81 is a casually improvised documentary about artist Jean Michel Basquiat, his wanderings through a day in New York; in it are appearances by Kid Creole and the Coconuts, Buster Poindexter and Debbie Harry as a bag lady fairy wish-giver.

Poet Saul Williams narrates as Basquiat, in this showcase of yesteryear's style and cool.
