In film, its quite easy to portray hitler as an insane, murderous fanatic. in downfall, bruno ganz gives us hitler in a new light. his hitler is still a murderous fanatic, but we learn more about the man himself through the experiences of those closest to him.
we witness astonishing acts of loyalty to the same man who was responsible for the deaths of 6 million jews. great great performances all around.
