Review of Dope (2015) by Gary G — 01 Sep 2015
High school senior geek-virgin Malcolm was planning to go the Harvard but suddenly his satchel is stuffed full of drugs at a party. He and his clique had to deal the drugs to get their asses out of a serious predicament with the gang bangers.
Also, two hot girls side tracked him for a bit. Although he was out of his league with the women and his dope dealing, he had the moxie to pull it all off (literally and figuratively). This energetic high schooler showed a great attitude that carried him through non-stop high jinx while avoiding the gangster's slippery slope, and he demonstrated the brains to craftily outsmart the bad guy with a bitcoin scheme.
This is a loopy movie with a positive message about the serious subject of gifted but at-risk kids trying to make out of their dangerous neighborhood and into college. Loved Malcolm's dancing sequence to Digital Underground's "Humpty Hump" in the last scene.
