Review of Do the Right Thing (1997) by Douglas J — 28 Jan 2010
I took my ex and her sister to see this at the now demolished "Indian Hills" theater in Omaha. They had a shooting outside of the theater a couple of days before. We were basically the only white people in the whole packed theater.
I dont know if this added tension to the movie, but a brother stood up at the end and yelled "yeah, burn Sals down". My ex and her sister thought we were goners. LOL. I loved this movie from Rosie Perez's opening dance number to the racial tension throughout.
The writing, acting first rate. This movie seemed to bring out different emotions.
