Review of Dead Men Walk (1943) by Greg S — 22 May 2009
Despite being pretty much a weaker version of Dracula (complete with Dwight Frye playing a subservient madman that shouts "master" --but hey, he's good at it), the film is not a complete rip-off due to its "evil twin" angle, which makes this film unique in the vampire movie genre.
Zucco makes the film, giving a solid, and appropriately creepy, performance. He does not, however, have the appeal of Lugosi, as much as the film may try to emulate that.
