Review of Cry, the Beloved Country (1951) by Michael L — 23 Mar 2009
Early poitier is always a treat but this film wasnt that great. I dont the zordas are terribly effective directors, I can understand why cahiers du film dismissed them. they really dont leave a mark on their films in the least.
however, the statements made in the film were very important. so this is going to have to be graded on a curve given the historical importance.
