Review of City Lights (2014) by Juan — 12 May 2008
The greatest film by a genius at the height of his creativity. Chaplin made this film silent in defiance of the advent of sound (and it is exponentially better than the racist Jazz Singer). And I actually envy those who have not seen it, for it is not only a comedic gem, but it is one of the most touching love stories of all time.
The final scene is heartbreakingly beautiful.
