Review of Cinematographer Style (2006) by Nick P — 10 May 2010
If you love movies, and no doubt you do or you wouldn't be reading this, then Cinematographer Style will keep your inner squirrel digging for silver screen nuggets. I personally enjoyed some of the documentary's coverage of lighting techniques.
I do have a gripe about the flick, one that I see mirrored in other reviews...director Jon Fauer interviews too many people. He conducts interviews with 110 cinematographers. If they all received equal time, that would amount to roughly 47 seconds per interview in an 86 minute documentary.
As you might guess, having so many talking heads leaves no room for movie clip examples, and this film could have really used some movie clips.
