Review of Churchill: The Hollywood Years (2004) by Matthew H — 16 May 2008
I bought this film with no expectations at all. Simply because it looked so stupid it had got to be funny. Christian Slater and Neve Campbell both do fantastic jobs of sending up the whole concept of the USA stealing UK glory and most of the cast do an incredible job.
Whilst it's never going to win any academy awards for acting or script, if you have a sense of humour, you are most certainly going to have a blast watching "The Hollywood Years". Stand out supporting performances include Harry Enfield as King George V and Antony Sher as Hitler.
Give it a try and you will probably be very surprised at how good this film actually is.
