Coming from India, I'm all too familiar with Mahatma Gandhi's non-violence movement to free India from Great Britain. From organizing to leading to fasting to practicing restraint, and being a statesman Chavez put up a formidable fight.
His struggle was at a much different level from Gandhi's but his approach was similar. Watching Chavez embrace those ideals was endearing.
