Review of Carmen Jones (1954) by Enrico C — 25 Sep 2008
Quite a unique musical in film history: Premingers directing Oscar Hammerstein's version of the Bizet opera, starring an astonishing Dorothy Dandridge and Harry Belafonte. A fascinating example of a sort of modern "opera", tragic and yet sometimes humourous as only the great directors are able to do.
