Let's get this straight. The movie is excellent. But it is NOT earth shattering, it plays out the same way we would expect any biopic/guerilla warfare flick to play out and we've seen them before (Baader Meinhoff Complex/Munich/Syriana).
I'm not saying it doesn't do the job well, but the job is a straight forward one. If asked to sit in a theater for close to 6 hours again, I would not. If asked if it was a good movie, from the comfort of my couch, I'd say yes.
The year's best? Definitely not.
