Review of Caravaggio (2007) by Juli N — 18 Aug 2009
"Caravaggio" is a lively romp through the life of one of the greatest artists ever to put brush to canvas. While the picture takes few chances, most notably glossing-over the artists homosexual relations, it is informative and entertaining.
Keeping the focus on Caravaggio's rebellious rakishness downplays the exigencies of the time but helps viewers connect more personally with the subject of the feature. Accordingly, it's worth a watch.
