Review of Carandiru (2003) by Brandon B — 30 Jul 2007
This film immerses you into the lives of various inmates of Sao Paulo's House of Detention leading up to the real life event known as the Carandiru Massacre. The stories keep you watching, for little actually happens in the movie itself, yet the acting, the camera work, and the complexity of this almost alternate universe makes it hard to turn away.
Excellent film - the ending makes it completely worth it.
