Review of Capone (2020) by Jluis_001 — 16 May 2020
Capone remind me of Bennett Miller's ''Capote''. Even the names look alike.
I make the comparison because both films are sustained by the performances of their lead actors and they're pretty much all that matters.
Is their names and their performances what leads the films.
However Capote was resonant as a whole, even alongside Philip Seymour Hoffman's titanic performance.
Capone on the other hand, despite not overshadowing Tom Hardy's committed work, it's just a boring and empty film.
Hardy's performance belongs to a better film.
Josh Trank doesn't sink any deeper than he did with Fantastic Four, but it definitely puts into perspective that his ego makes him believe he's a better director than he really is.
